TikTok Shop Fees: US vs UK

TikTok Shop charges sellers one main fee in both the US and the UK, but under different names, rates and rules. This guide compares them using TikTok Shop’s US Seller University and its UK policy and fee pages, checked in October 2026.

In the US the 6% rate applies to most categories: 189 of the 206 TikTok lists. TikTok’s own US example is 6% × ($102 + $5 − $2), the customer payment plus the platform discount minus tax. In the UK, TikTok’s example is a pair of shoes with a £95 base at 9%, £8.55.
The same order in both
A 40.00 item with 10.00 shipping, no discounts, in each country’s own currency:
- US: 6% of $50 = $3.00
- UK: 9% of £50 = £4.50, VAT included
Affiliate commission
In both countries, products sold by creators through the affiliate programme also pay the commission rate you set, on top of TikTok’s fee. In the UK it is charged on the product price after seller and platform discounts, without shipping. A 30.00 item with 3.00 shipping at a 10% creator rate:
- US: $1.98 referral fee + $3.00 affiliate commission
- UK: £2.97 commission + £3.00 affiliate commission
Discounts
Platform discounts are funded by TikTok and paid into your settlement, so both countries add them back when working out the fee. Your own seller discounts lower the fee, because they lower what you receive.
