Facebook Marketplace Fees (2026)

By Selling Fee Tools team ·

Facebook Marketplace charges a fee when you sell an item with shipping in the US and the buyer pays through Facebook. This guide explains it from Meta’s own Marketplace terms, checked in November 2026.

The selling fee

Meta’s Marketplace Seller Protection Policy and Checkout Terms set the fee for individual sellers at:

  • 10% of each transaction, with a minimum of $0.80.
  • The 10% is calculated on the entire transaction: the item prices, any delivery fees and applicable taxes.
  • Items shipped together count as one transaction, so they pay one fee.

Why some pages say 5%

You may still see 5% on older Meta pages. A Commerce Manager help page gives 5% per shipment, or $0.40 for shipments of $8 or less, for checkout on Facebook and Instagram shops, and Meta’s “sell with shipping” page also mentions 5%. Meta’s current Marketplace terms say 10%, which is what our calculator uses. Your listing shows the fee before you sell.

What you keep

Shipped with a label that costs the same as the shipping the buyer paid, no sales tax:

OrderFeeYou receiveFee as % of price
$5, no shipping charge$0.80 (minimum)$4.2016.0%
$20 + $6 shipping$2.60$17.4013.0%
$50 + $8 shipping$5.80$44.2011.6%
$100 + $10 shipping$11.00$89.0011.0%

Because the fee includes shipping, it comes to more than 10% of the item price whenever the buyer pays for delivery.

Sales tax raises the fee

Tax is part of the fee base. A $50 item with $8 shipping and $4.64 sales tax pays 10% of $62.64: $6.26 instead of $5.80. The tax itself isn’t yours to keep.

The $0.80 minimum

Any order under $8 in total pays $0.80. On a $5 item that is 16% of the price, so very cheap items are better bundled together, which makes them one transaction with one fee.
