How it works
Choose where you’re based, then enter the item price and the shipping the buyer pays. Every rate comes from Depop’s Help Centre page on seller fees and charges, linked below the calculator.
No selling fee. Depop charges no selling fee to sellers based in the US, the UK or Australia. Sellers elsewhere still pay 10%, which this calculator doesn’t cover.
Payment processing. Every sale through Depop Payments pays a processing fee: 3.3% + $0.45 in the US, 2.9% + £0.30 in the UK and 2.6% + A$0.30 in Australia. The percentage is taken from the item price plus shipping plus any taxes, so in the US you can add the sales tax on the order and the fee rises with it. The percentage is rounded to the cent and the fixed fee added.
Boosting. If the item sold through a boosted listing, tick the box. Depop charges 12% on listings boosted from 23 March 2026 and 8% on older ones, on the item price excluding tax, plus shipping unless you used a Depop shipping label. The help page gives these rates for the US and UK, so boosting isn’t offered for Australia.
Payout and profit. What you receive is the item price plus shipping, minus the fees. Sales tax isn’t counted as your money. Add the item’s cost and what the postage costs you to see your profit, and your margin on the item price plus shipping.
Example
Six sales, each in the seller’s own currency.
| Sale | Working | Fees | You receive |
|---|---|---|---|
| US: $40 + $6 shipping + $3.68 tax | 3.3% of $49.68 + $0.45 | $2.09 | $43.91 |
| UK: £25 + £4 shipping | 2.9% of £29 + £0.30 | £1.14 | £27.86 |
| Australia: A$50 + A$10 shipping | 2.6% of A$60 + A$0.30 | A$1.86 | A$58.14 |
| US: $40 + $6, boosted, own label | $1.97 + 12% of $46 | $7.49 | $38.51 |
| US: $40 + $6, boosted, Depop label | $1.97 + 12% of $40 | $6.77 | $39.23 |
| US: $40 + $6, boosted before 23 March 2026 | $1.97 + 8% of $46 | $5.65 | $40.35 |
In the first sale, an item that cost you $12 with $6 of postage leaves $25.91 profit, 56.3% of the $46 item and shipping. On a $100 sale with free shipping, processing comes to $3.75 in the US, £3.20 in the UK and A$2.90 in Australia.

FAQ
How much does Depop take from a sale?
Sellers based in the US, UK and Australia pay no Depop selling fee. What you pay is payment processing through Depop Payments: 3.3% + $0.45 in the US, 2.9% + £0.30 in the UK and 2.6% + A$0.30 in Australia. On a $40 item with $6 shipping and $3.68 sales tax, that is $2.09, and you receive $43.91.
What is the Depop boosting fee?
If an item sells through a boosted listing, Depop charges a boosting fee: 12% for listings boosted from 23 March 2026 and 8% for those created before, for sellers in the US and UK. It is charged on the item price excluding tax, plus shipping if you didn’t use a Depop shipping label. Items that aren’t boosted pay no boosting fee.
Does Depop charge fees on shipping and sales tax?
The payment processing fee is charged on the item price plus shipping plus any taxes, so a US order with sales tax pays processing on the tax too. The boosting fee leaves tax out, and leaves shipping out when you use a Depop shipping label. With no boost, processing is the only fee for sellers in the US, UK and Australia.
When did Depop remove selling fees?
Depop removed its 10% selling fee for sellers in the United States in 2024, and its help page lists no selling fee for sellers based in the UK either. In Australia, Depop announced that selling fees end from 22 July 2026, with Australian buyers paying a marketplace fee of up to 5% of the item price plus up to A$1 instead.
Do sellers in other countries pay a selling fee?
Yes. Depop’s help page says sellers outside the US, UK and Australia, selling in a currency other than dollars, pounds or Australian dollars, pay a 10% selling fee on the item price, plus shipping if they didn’t use a Depop shipping label. They pay a PayPal processing fee instead of Depop Payments. This calculator covers the three fee-free countries.
Do I get Depop’s fees back if I refund a buyer?
According to Depop’s help page, a full refund through Depop Payments reverses the fees for that sale, so you aren’t left paying processing or boosting on an order you refunded. Postage you already paid for and the cost of the item are your own, so check those before agreeing to a return.
