Amazon: what the official page says
- Amazon accepts 500 to 10,000 px on the longest side; 1,000 px or more enables zoom.
- The main image needs a pure white background (RGB 255, 255, 255), with the product filling about 85% of the frame.
- JPEG is Amazon’s recommended format.
2. Result
Photos are fitted whole onto a 2,000 × 2,000 white canvas, never cropped or enlarged.

How it works
Drop up to 50 product photos in JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF or AVIF and choose a marketplace preset. Each preset follows that marketplace’s own image requirements page, linked next to the preset with what it says. Everything runs in your browser, so the photos never leave your device.
Fit, never crop. Each photo is placed whole on a canvas of the preset’s size and centred, and the space around it is filled with white. Transparent areas of PNGs are filled white too, which matters on Etsy, where transparency shows as black. Add a 5% or 10% white margin for breathing room around the product.
Never enlarged. If a photo is smaller than the preset, it isn’t blown up. The canvas shrinks to fit it at full sharpness, keeping the preset’s shape, and the table explains why. Photos below a marketplace’s minimum, such as 500 px for Amazon and eBay or 600 px for TikTok Shop, are flagged as errors because they will be rejected or rank lower.
Sharp downscaling. Large photos are halved step by step before the final resize, which keeps edges smooth instead of jagged. Phone photos are turned the right way up from their orientation data.
File size. JPEG is saved at 90% quality. For Etsy, quality steps down until the file is under 1 MB, the size Etsy says uploads reliably; eBay’s 12 MB and Shopify’s 20 MB limits are checked too. Download each photo on its own or all of them as one ZIP, named after the original file and the preset.
Example
Four test photos resized with the Amazon preset (2000 × 2000, JPEG, no margin):
| Photo | Before | After | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| mug-landscape.jpg | 4000 × 3000 | 2000 × 2000 | Photo drawn at 2000 × 1500, 250 px of white above and below. |
| bottle-portrait.jpg | 1200 × 1800 | 1800 × 1800 | Saved at 1800 × 1800, not 2000 × 2000: the photo isn’t enlarged. |
| badge-small.png | 450 × 450 | 450 × 450 | Only 450 × 450 px. Amazon needs at least 500 px on the longest side. |
| photo.heic | — | — | HEIC can’t be read by most browsers. Export it as JPEG first. |
With the Etsy landscape preset (2700 × 2025) the same mug photo fills the canvas exactly, because it is already 4:3, and the portrait bottle is centred with white on both sides.
FAQ
What size should product photos be for each marketplace?
Amazon accepts 500 to 10,000 px on the longest side and zooms from 1,000 px; this tool saves 2000 × 2000. eBay recommends about 1600 × 1600. Etsy recommends at least 2000 px wide and high. Shopify suggests 2048 × 2048 for square images. TikTok Shop US needs at least 600 × 600; the preset is 800 × 800.
Does it remove the background?
No. The tool fits your photo onto a white canvas, so margins and transparent areas become white, but a background that’s already in the photo stays. Amazon and TikTok Shop main images need a pure white background, so shoot on white or remove the background in a photo editor first, then resize here.
Why is my photo saved smaller than the preset?
The tool never enlarges a photo. Making a small image bigger only adds blur, and Amazon asks sellers not to artificially enlarge small images. If your photo is smaller than the preset, the canvas shrinks to fit it at full sharpness and keeps the preset’s shape. If it is below the marketplace minimum, the table says so.
Will it crop my product?
No. Every photo is fitted whole inside the canvas and centred, and the leftover space is filled with white. A 4:3 photo on a square canvas gets white bars above and below. Choose a 5% or 10% white margin if you want space around the product, which helps Etsy thumbnails crop cleanly.
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. Photos are decoded, resized and encoded by your browser, and the ZIP is built on your device too. Nothing is sent to us or to the marketplaces. That also means large batches use your computer’s memory, so the tool takes up to 50 photos at a time.
Why are some Etsy files saved at lower quality?
Etsy says images over 1 MB may not finish uploading on a slow connection. For the Etsy presets, JPEG quality starts at 90% and steps down to 60% until the file is under 1 MB. The table shows the quality used. If a file is still over 1 MB at 60%, it gets a warning instead of being degraded further.
