Is an eBay Store Worth It? (US, 2026)

By Selling Fee Tools team ·

An eBay Store is a monthly subscription that gives you more free listings and, from the Basic Store up, lower final value fees in most categories. Whether it pays for itself depends on what you sell and how much. This guide uses eBay’s US Selling fees and Store selling fees pages, checked in October 2026.

Lower final value fees

From Basic up, Store subscribers pay less in most categories:

When a Basic Store pays for itself

At $21.95 a month on yearly billing, a Basic Store pays for itself on final value fees alone once the savings pass that amount:

  • Most categories: 0.9 points lower, so at about $2,440 a month of sales.
  • Laptops, desktops and consoles: 6.25 points lower, so at about $350 a month: one laptop sale covers it.
  • Books, movies and music: no saving on the rate; a Store only helps with listing fees.

The extra free listings matter too: a seller who creates 800 fixed-price listings in a month pays insertion fees on 550 of them without a Store, $192.50 at $0.35 each, and none with a Basic Store.
