Amazon.ca charges a referral fee on each sale: the greater of a category percentage of the total price, including shipping and gift wrap, or a C$0.40 minimum per item in most categories. This guide lists the categories from Amazon’s Canadian pricing page, checked in October 2026.
8%: computers and electronics

15%: most categories
Everything Else, Home and Kitchen, Toys and Games, Sports and Outdoors, Office Products, Pet Products, Lawn and Garden, Tools and Home Improvement, Footwear, Mattresses, Musical Instruments, and Backpacks, Handbags and Luggage pay 15%. Media (books, DVD, music, software, video), Video Games and Collectible Cards pay 15% with no minimum.

The clothing rule is worth pricing around: a C$19.99 shirt pays C$2.00, while the same shirt at C$20.00 pays C$3.40.
Plans and other fees
- Professional: C$29.99 a month. Individual: C$1.49 per item sold. Professional is cheaper above 20 items a month.
- Minimum: a C$2.00 item in Everything Else pays the C$0.40 minimum, not C$0.30.
- FBA: fulfilment fees start at C$5.92 for the first 100 g of a standard-size item, and products priced under C$14 get rates C$0.80 lower.
- Amazon’s Canadian pricing page doesn’t say how GST/HST applies to its fees; sellers with a GST/HST number on file are charged it on referral and FBA fees and can claim it back.
